Am I Nick Nolte's Mother?

I've been joking around all winter about Ludwig Van Beethoven, Yahoo Serious and Nick Nolte to everyone who'll listen because the dry winter air is playing some unfortunate pranks upon the already distinctive coif of the younger moppet. But it struck me today, what if the cosmos is trying to tell me something? What are the similarities between Nick Nolte and Younger Moppet of three years?

Fabulous hair
They're both really, really bad drivers and, in fact, probably shouldn't be trusted behind the wheel
A flair for bright prints and colors
Tenuous mastery of motor control
A real creative gift for performance and acting
Really poor impulse control
Notably bad Italian accents

Luckily, only one smells of lavender shampoo and pads into my room each night for a snuggle.

Wow, was this taken when he got arrested in Hawaii for public intoxication? What a great shot of Nick.

Thank goodness for snuggles.. otherwise that fake Italian might really get annoying.

What a funny sweet post! It is remarkable, te resemblance - let Ludvig watch a movie with Nick in it - Maybe Down and Out in Beverly Hills. See if she creeps up to the TV screen and says "They're here!"

Awww, the Younger Moppet is definitely blessed with a cuteness that poor old Nolte lacks.

I am just glad it's her hair and not her teeth that have a Nolte-like quality!

Notably bad italian accents! I miss having my moppets waking up in the middle of the night! That sounds crazy but I'm an insomniac with nothing to do!

I've been watching Nick Nolte ever since he played Tom Jordache in "Rich Man, Poor Man" in the 70s! He has had his bad moments to be sure, but he's still got the acting chops. Have you seen "The Good Thief"?

I have to know (or be reminded - not sure which since my pm-brain* refuses to enlighten me) when did he speak Italian?

Your little polka-dot certainly bears a resemblance from that angle.

I hope that you're counting that as a major blessing...

I think, Blick, that your moppet is darling. Nick. Um. Not so much. You carry a cuteness gene that Nick is lacking, ergo, you cannot be his mother. Isn't scientific fact a reassuring thing?

I think poor Nick needs a bit of mothering, only a mother could love him looking like that.

And now I've got an image of Nick Nolte, possibly smelling of lavender, quietly padding into MY room in the middle of the night...

:-)

I've always loved his acting and since being sucked into "Celebrity Rehab" (a show), I now understand that a sizeable brain injury following a pretty hard-core motorcycle accident is the reason for his lousy impulse control and lack of mental filters...

Awww. moppet. That's great. Kind of a cross between The Muppet Show and The Crucible. He he.

Yes this was the mug shot CDB.

The bad Italian accent was from his role in Lorenzo's Oil, Kat. I physically flinched each time he opened his mouth!

Debby I do count it as a major blessing :)

H.E., :)

Pearl wasn't that one Gary Busey? I get them mixed up but I think he's the one who did Celebrity Fit Club.

Jeanne I was quite startled when looking for his picture that he was once a people magazine pick for sexiest.

:) Ann, just describes her personality.

Oh, poi, is that the press photo taken during that year Nick Nolte was running for president of Hawaii? And now this other guy from Hawaire is president?! There's definitely something to this. All that your moppet's laid out on the table this winter makes for a BIG indicator: he's destined to be a great leader of the free world one of these days! How does next Friday grab you?

Oh the world would be in for an interesting ride if that were the case SparkleFarkle. She would love your blogging handle because she says "sfarkle" instead of sparkle.

Also I just have to share my mom's comments (via email) because they cracked me up: I don't get it??!!Nick Nolte and th Moppets?? Also who pads into your room other than [daughter] or does [husband] use lavender shampoo lately???

It has been proven that snuggling leads to those ailments.

O'K ~ Thank you for giving me my full belly laugh of the day! I was laughing so hard that dh came in and asked me what was going on so I had to not show him your post but also explain about Blicky. Which was quite the undertaking as you can imagine.
