Recent Tweets by Oscar Wilde

I know! Who knew Oscar Wilde was on Twitter? Apparently Blicky's friended him on Facebook and follows him on Twitter. He must be really really old, but apparently he stays pretty well informed:

Patriotism is the true virtue of the vicious.

One of tragic failings of our generation is how much the workplace has started to cut into our Facebook time.

The debate surrounding the economic bailout is the most vicious of all; that's because there's so little at stake.

If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh otherwise they'll kill you.

History will reveal that the mormons were right to back Proposition Eight. Marriage should be between a man and a woman, and a woman, and a woman, and a woman, and a woman and a woman, and a woman.

"Fidelity": Don't Divorce... from Courage Campaign on Vimeo.

I have to go because if I watch any more, apparently my heterosexual marriage and lifestyle might spontaneously combust.

Oh man, Wilde has a Facebook? I always wanted to know what happened to him after high school.

And Blicky- Mao! I'm sad because you are no longer on my list of followers! You were one of the original three! What do I have to do to win you back? Say it and it's done.

The love that dare not tweet its name.

Some other Bloggers have had that problem too, so I figured it was the same issue. (I mean REALLY- my blog is a tour de force. Why would anyone STOP following it? hahaha)Sorry, I had to give you some grief for it anyway.

The Guilt Trip is one of my patented moves. It's especially potent when the person on the business end did nothing to inspire it. You should try it, man.

(Sorry- I think I'm still high on sugar. Making less sense than usual even. Watch out!)

Oooh good one Philip.

Mary, the only reason would be that I got ticked off at you for making me laugh and spew coffee all over my new monitor.

I even posted a screenshot on FB for you so you wouldn't think I was a bad bloggie friend.

Blickkkkkkkk!!! This is just gorgeous! What a powerful campaign! I think that I'm going to make 'Dont divorce my friends' photo and send it in. Gay marriage isn't legal in France either. It really ticks me off!

You are one wise kitty! :)

Hilarious.. I have to friend him on facebook. Wonder if he'd remember me, after all this time? We spent time together back, oh.. it must have been high school. How young I was then.

Glad you came back, Blick.. I missed you! (silly blogger issues)

Thanks Rhonda!

Thanks CDB!

Yeah I guess Blogger magically made all of my following anonymous. Nothing against stalkers and such, but it's somewhat less friendly that way... I might never have noticed if Mary didn't clue me in.

*Silently cheering* NOT that my number of followers matters to me. Eh eh.

I had to come back and say how much Mr. Wilde is pimpin' in his FB profile pic. I bet he gets a lot of friends that way.

The ways of the kitty are mysterious and amusing.

When I read "Oscar Wilde" on the title for the post, I was hooked already. Great post!

Blick -- I sat and watched this video this morning and just wept. My daughter and her partner had their commitment ceremony on a sailboat in Hawaii, just the two of them. I didn't get to see my only daughter marry. And now Kenneth Starr wants to take the married status away from those Californians. It just kills my soul.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers to illuminating us to the fact he's alive and Tweeting. Hm... I wonder whether Dickens has gotten Tweeting yet...

I can sort of imagine he might have trouble with that 140 character limit.

I like the picture of the steam punk laptop.

Feist moved in around the corner from me. I saw her 1, 2, 3 times on the weekend.

Oh and I feel the same way Marie. It's just so sad.

Yep CDB I never stopped following even the baby toe :)

Thanks Pearl, I'm up past my bedtime again thanks to your blog. :)

Thanks for stopping by Harriet! I had fun returning the visit.

Aleta thanks!

Jeanne I know, the video makes me so sad. But I keep on thinking that this is such a fundamental human issue about love and family that it will transcend all of the partisan and faith based vitriol. It makes me hopeful too. I enjoyed watching it today with my girls and explaining to my 3 yr. old that when princesses love princesses and princes love princes, that it's mean not to let them live happily ever after. :)

Hahaha Jenn I think considering how many of his sentences form entire paragraphs Dickens would be screwed these days.

Larry :)

What a treat to visit Hazel's blog today!

I'm pretty sure that isn't a recent picture of Oscar. I haven't seen him for a few years, but I'm guessing unless he has a face lift he's probably using a photo from his college days. The guy is way over 30 by now, I'm pretty sure.

I have never understood the 'threat' that gay marriage poses.

Oscar has the same kind of computer I do. Who knew?

I should have known that Blicky was a wilde cat.

MuseSwings said...

He wasn't wearing all those clothes when he posed for the Oscar award. I just saw him at publix. We were both buying Circus Peanuts candy. He likes them stale too!

You are so smart. Funny and smart? Mao!

It's amazing how amazingly contemporary and fresh Wilde looks in this photo. I think Hugh Grant could play him in a movie. (Or has he already? I am not too up to speed on recent movies...)

Blicky Kitty said...

Yeah Sean dontcha just hate it when people do that on FB?

I agree completely Debbie!

I can't believe he shops at Publix. Why am I the last one to friend him?

Thnx Ann, but not worthy. Your prose kicks my prose's ass on it's best day. Right now it's floundering in a death grip from your latest post.

Thanks Merrily!

Lavinia I was surprised to find him looking rakish and dapper rather than consumptive and inbred in this image. :)

The big problem I have with Oscar's facebook is that his profile pic keeps getting older but he stays the same.
