Blicky has prepared a gorgeous meal for everyone to say thank you and namaste for today's Karm-A-Thon.
Mmm, good kitty! Roquefort and pear strudel, watercress salad with port-braised figs followed by steamed mussels with sausages and fennel. We probably don't need dessert but he's made some nice lemon custard cakes. In case your cat doesn't cook, here are the recipes.
I was delighted with the creative, fun and profound blog posts that everyone contributed. Lavinia and Musey the consumate bloggy hostesses/schemers add such a feeling of fun to any blog event. They not only wrote wonderful posts but add fun and joy to the process. Kat at Poetikat's Invisible Keepsakes wrote such a thoughtful and caring entry about spending time with her grieving mom. Steviewren wrote such a touching piece about her children. CDB crafted a wonderful poem for the occasion and got it posted right before her Valentine's date, so the link is below if you haven't seen it. Find the link to Ann's Rants below while your at it. She not only coined a new phrase, "What in the Sally Jesse Raphael...", which will undoubted become commonly used, but she made a donation to an actual charity in honor of our Karm-a-thon! Katie at Ragamuffin Gal wrote an amazing post about a random encounter at Walmarts that became a meaningful connection. Well I'm going to hit it now because I've got to haul my thirtyten-year-old arse ten miles tomorrow morning. Enjoy a wonderful night with your loved ones, your Ben and Jerries — or in a perfect world— both, dear readers.

Oh and here are some fun additions to the new candy Sweethearts sayings from reader comments. I had started with:

I tried and tried to get over here last night but I kept getting an error message. Probably the Janeen and Sparky security team, I'm thinking. Anyway - I'm here now and thank goodness there's plenty of food left! I had a very Valentiney day, thank you! I visited with all of the Karmathoners and had a wonderful day. Pass me some of that caviar before Livvy grabs it, please. Love the candy hearts - what a hoot. I think Blicky is in the back room printing up his own. I got one that says U R MAO SUNSHINE on it.

Mmmmmmmmmm, port-braised figs, MY FAVORITE! Delicious, thanks, and will be a great companion as I visit all the Karmathoners ce soir.

Also, my braised duck and chestnut mash with choco-hazlenut tort from last night gives Blicky's meal a run for its money.. but just!

Sorry I didn't get round for the dinner, Blicky; we had a whirlwind weekend what with the Warhol, the opera and then yesterday, dinner at "Montana's" with Mom. I managed to post a few things, but I was done in after dinner. I'm catching up today, but with the furballs floating around my house, it's beginning to look a bit like an Old West tumbleweed town around here. I HAVE to vacuum is my mantra for today. (I dare not let my husband in the house when he returns from his hard day at work).

Gotta run--I haven't had my caffeine yet and that's the kickstart I need.

Thanks for a wonderful time on Saturday. We luvs the Blickster!

Kat

Thanks Yaya!

Mao sorry for the technical difficulties with my site. I wwish I knew how to fix it.

Oh CDB sounds HEAVENLY. It had the distinct advantage of being a real repast as well.

Thanks Katie. Glad you had fun and look forward to reading more of your posts.

Oh Kat I remember the days when it was just little tumbleweeds around here. Now it's stagecoaches and cattle. Makes it quite noisy and messy 24/7. :)

Thanks Max! I think your blog is hysterical as well and look forward to reading more.
